Introducing the Second Chance Medical Fund
Because of the compassion and legacy of fellow animal lovers who remembered us in their wills and estates, something truly special is now possible—a dedicated medical fund that will change lives.
Launched on May 8, 2025, with an extraordinary $250,000, the Nassau Humane Society Second Chance Medical Fund will help ensure that every sick, injured, or neglected animal in our care gets the treatment they desperately need—today and with your help, for years to come.
Why It Matters: Every day, animals arrive in our shelter needing urgent care. This fund allows us to:
• Provide emergency treatment and routine medical care for shelter pets
• Give second chances to animals needing surgery, specialist visits, or long-term care
• Say “yes” when others might say “there’s nothing more that can be done”.
With your support, we can be there—no matter the need, no matter the cost.
Help Us Give Them a Second Chance: By donating to the Second Chance Medical Fund, you're helping create a lasting resource for homeless and unwanted pets in our community. Your gift today ensures that no animal suffers due to lack of medical care tomorrow.
Together, we can save lives.
Together, we can give second chances.
