Every day, homeless, injured, neglected, and unwanted pets arrive at Nassau Humane Society needing medical care. Some require emergency surgeries or specialist treatment. Others need ongoing care for infections, injuries, dental disease, skin conditions, heartworm, or other illnesses that can't be ignored.

Our Second Chance Medical Fund ensures that every animal receives the treatment they need—not just in a crisis, but every day they are in our care.

Nassau Humane Society spends more than $500,000 each year providing medical care for the thousands of animals who come through our doors. To help fund these lifesaving efforts, we launched the Second Chance Medical Fund for Homeless Pets in May 2024.

Your gift helps provide everything from routine medical treatment and medications to emergency surgeries, diagnostic testing, specialist visits, and lifesaving procedures. Most importantly, it allows us to say "yes" to animals who have nowhere else to turn.
